Those mischievous Erwins were at it again...with GF getting ready for his first Vermont visit since 1989, Dad came up with the brilliant idea - "why don't we record us like we had planned and you can take it back east with you."
Commemorating the 104th Birthday of Aurore Erwin (R.I.P.), affectionately referred to as "Mere Mere", the folks at 201 Weaver Street are in for a surprise at this year's celebration. GF will be arriving with a copy of "Le beau septembre d'Aurore/Beautiful September of Aurore" for everyone.
The two Glenn's have been playing together for the past year. Glenn decided at age 69 to learn how to play Piano. Practicing three hours a day and performing locally at senior centers, the hard work is paying off. GF reunited with the Tenor Sax last year, something he had wanted to do since playing in Junior High School and picking it up again back once in the late 80's. Pop and GF have been playing standards together whenever they get a chance.
Damien, who is a very talented and prolific guitarist is featured on one track, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", one of Grandma Erwin's favorites.
The idea of putting together a CD for the Vermont family was last minute. With less than two weeks to record and mix all of the tracks, GF enlisted the help of sister Roseann, who put together the artwork. Having recently completed courses in Graphic Design, she now had a chance to show her wares with a family project. She also came up with the beautiful title.
Dave and Kay made a generous contribution to the effort and "Le beau septembre d'Aurore" was born, musically celebrating the honor of Mere Mere's birthday - her life, her talent, her strength, her generous, kind spirit and her love that we all share today.
